FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO BECOME AN OFFICAL CANDIDATE FOR OFFICE
GETTING STARTED AS A CANDIDATE FOR FEDERAL OFFICE
If you’re interested in serving in the House of Representatives, Senate, or even in the White House, you should start by registering with the FEC. Watch this video for more information. Once you have, click here to register with the FEC.
There is still more to do, but you’ll be well on your way to reclaiming your independence and upholding your duty of leadership!
OPEN A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION
The first step to launching any campaign is forming your committee. To do this, you will need to create your corporate documents and file them with your state.
The good news is that we provide you with the templates you will need, so establishing your committee is as easy as filling out what we’ve already built for you and filing it with the state.
GET YOUR TAX ID FROM THE IRS
Before you start raising money, you’ll want to have everything in order. Register as a non-profit with the IRS, and they’ll issue you a tax ID that will establish your campaign’s ability to start raising funds.
OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT
Opening a bank account is fast, easy, and can mostly be done online. While we don’t recommend any one bank over another, TD Bank was the institution we found to fit a grassroots effort like ours, and they’ll likely work for you, too.
REGISTER AS A CANDIDATE IN COLORADO
Once you’ve found the leadership position for you, make it official by registering as a candidate.
After this step, you will be an official candidate for public office. Now the work begins sharing with others how you’re going to make tomorrow better than it is today!
LAUNCH A WEBSITE
Every campaign needs a website no matter how local the election is. Gaining awareness and raising the money you’ll need has become so much easier for ordinary Americans thanks to the technologies of today.
Take advantage of the tools at our disposal to reclaim our independence. Launch your website, and start getting the word out!
